According to Peter O’Rourke of ESPN, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is keen on signing teenage prodigy Leon Bailey from Racing Genk.

The winger was was named Belgium football’s young player of the year last season and has attracted interest from a number of top European sides with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all keeping tabs on the hugely promising forward.

However, according to O’Rourke, United are ahead of the rest of the potential suitors and in recent weeks, the club has sent scouts to monitor the Jamaican’s performances “on several occasions”.

Nominated for the Golden Boy award alongside Marcus Rashford, Bailey is viewed as having massive potential and, at just 19 years of age, he is sure to only get better in the years to come.

Given United’s recent acquisitions of Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba, it seems as if buying up the hottest young talent in Europe has become the club’s new transfer strategy with the players sure to have huge sell on value in the future.
