Manchester United Manager Louis Van Gaal Defiant In Post Match Interview

Louis Van Gaal must be more relieved than he was this time yesterday. Despite the fact that Manchester United have failed to register a win in December, they were impressive during their draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford today.

The Red Devils were on top throughout bar a few chances for the Pensioners which came against the run of play. It is Chelsea who will be happier with the point tonight.

This was a performance that United can be proud of, but this season’s failing in their lack of firepower was prevalent once again.

LVG is disappointed that they were unable to find a winner, but the manner in which they held the ball against the Premier League champions is a positive.

He is not worried about his job security, and remained bullish that he will see out the remainder of his contract.

Nonetheless, many fans are confident that Van Gaal is not the right man to lead the club forward, with several banners and scarves seen around Old Trafford calling for the appointment of José Mourinho.

It remains to be seen if the Dutchman has managed United for the last time. Wayne Rooney and Co. performed positively this evening, but after a string of defeats is it a case of too little, too late?
