Manchester United Made A Huge Bid For Thomas Müller Last Summer

It was no secret throughout last summer that Manchester United were hot in pursuit of Thomas Müller. However, Bayern Munich were keen to hold onto the Germany midfielder, and showed some serious resolve to turn down a massive offer for the World Cup winner.

It has emerged on a reputable Twitter source that the Red Devils made a whopping bid of €106 million, or £75 million, although this exchange may be somewhat inflated due to the current rates.

Nonetheless, this is a major offer, and one which Bayern must have taken seriously.

Nonetheless, the German giants did not sell their playmaker, and are apparently looking to counteract any potential bid should United come calling again in January.

It appears Louis Van Gaal and Co. were serious about their pursuit of Müller, and we may not have heard the last of this yet.
