Liverpool make the short trip to Old Trafford on Sunday with the in-form Manchester United hoping for a season-defining victory over their oldest rivals.
If the home team can overcome Jurgen Klopp’s side, they’ll close the gap between them to just two points. Liverpool have struggled in recent games, relative to their phenomenal early-season standards with an EFL Cup defeat to Southampton following draws with Plymouth Argyle and Sunderland.
United, meanwhile, are in the best form the fans have witnessed in half a decade. Paul Pogba and co. are looking for their tenth straight win and haven’t lost since their Stamford Bridge humiliation in October.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the primary injury concern for Jose Mourinho but the maverick Swede was pictured arriving at the team hotel last night and, fans will be delighted to know, starts.

For the away side, the availability of Joel Matip, Philip Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge were the main talking points prior to the team being released. Thee club have released a statement about the defender.
“Liverpool Football Club can confirm Joel Matip has been withdrawn from selection for today’s Premier League fixture at Manchester United as the club continues to seek clarity from FIFA as to the player’s eligibility.”
