Manchester United have played few more important games since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement than today’s trip to Leicester.
After both Arsenal and Liverpool were beaten yesterday, it’s time United finally rediscover their winning form and punish the mistakes of those above them.
In their way stand a struggling Leicester. The champions are yet to win in 2017 and find themselves just a point above the drop zone. They watched fellow relegation battlers Hull City and Sunderland collect maximum points yesterday and are in dire need of a lift.
Before the team news had officially emerged, reports surfaced suggesting that United pair Wayne Rooney and Luke Shaw had not travelled with the squad for the afternoon clash.
Mourinho said on Friday Jones was only senior player currently injured but doesn't look like Rooney or Shaw have travelled to Leicester.

The other talking point before the teams were released was whether or nor Anthony Martial would get an overdue chance in the league after an insipid performance from the Reds’ front three on Wednesday night.
There was also murmurs in some corners that Bastian Schweinsteiger could get an opportunity from the start with Michael Carrick’s usually high levels dropping quickly with concerns over fatigue.
Martial didn’t get his chance and neither did the German with Mourinho opting to revert to a 4-2-3-1 formation as Carrick finally got a rest.
