A flurry of reports emerged from Turkey last night that Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini is close to completing a move to Galatasaray.
Cenk Ergun, the club’s sporting director, confirmed to Ajansspor that the Belgian is set to leave Old Trafford and is now a target of theirs:
“We are in talks with Fellaini. We have made an approach.
“We need a player like Fellaini who can move around in midfield. Fellaini will leave Manchester United and he is now in our radar.”
The 29-year-old midfielder has been the subject of incessant and mostly justified criticism since his big-money move from Everton in 2014. Despite that, he has produced, on a handful of occasions, performances good enough to deserve a place at the club.
However, in the main, he’s been dreadful regardless of his role or the opposition. Having cost his side two points at Everton in December, he even had to endure jeering from some sections of the Old Trafford faithful.
This past season has been his best but there’s not too many supporters that will be sad to see the back of him if he does go. Across social media, fans are rejoicing that Fellaini may actually be on his way.

Marouane Fellaini's done a job at Manchester United yes, but I won't shed a tear if he goes. More harm than good & better if he does leave.

Will be so happy if Fellaini goes. Worst United player I've ever seen, and yes, I'm including Djemba-Djemba in that. #MUFC

Have Moyes/LVG really dragged us down that much that a lot of fans think Fellaini is useful? He is fucking dog shit, Sunday league standard

I really hope these Fellaini rumours are true. Absolute fucking disaster of a player and anybody on my TL saying it'll be a mistake is dumb

Considering the player is still with the squad on their pre-season tour in Norway, any exit could still be far from completion but there is finally signs he could soon be packing his bags.
