Ever since recording a series of impressive performances for France at the 2016 European Championships, striker Antoine Griezmann has seen significant and growing interest in attaining his future services.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United – as well as a host of European clubs – are all said to be interesting in trying the pry the 25-year-old away from Atlético Madrid and manager Diego Simeone, especially given his recent decision to represent himself in future transfer negotiations.
United, in particular, have been strongly and repeatedly linked with the forward as manager José Mourinho bids to improve the strength and depth of his Old Trafford squad and reinforce their chase of silverware for the coming seasons.
Griezmann’s latest comments to L’Équipe will be of interest to both the Portuguese and club supporters as a result. Asked about his relationship with United’s returning midfield star, Paul Pogba, the Mâcon native revealed that it is only getting better and better since the summer and that he even follows United’s games in order to keep track of is compatriot.
“We get on very well. It is true that Euros has brought us closer together still. Paul is a really nice guy. He is it!
“We send messages, Snapchats. He’s really a good friend…When he plays with his club, I try to look at it to see if he had a good game or not.”
