Manchester United ended their season on Wednesday by winning the Europa League title, and that victory has been reflected in the competition’s squad of the season.
In all, eight of Jose Mourinho’s side are named in the eighteen-man panel decided on by “UEFA Techincal Observers”, in a lineup that also includes three players from beaten finalists Ajax.

Goalkeeper Sergio Romero (backup to David De Gea in the league but first choice in Europe), defenders Eric Bailly, Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia, midfielders Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic were all deemed to be among the best players from this year’s competition.
Ajax’s Matthijs De Ligt, Amin Younes and Bertrand Traore also made the cut, as did rumoured Arsenal and Atletico Madrid target Alexandre Lacazette and new Monaco signing Youri Tielemans.
