The outpouring of emotion from Jose Mourinho following Manchester United’s Europa League win on Wednesday night showed just how stressful the end to his season was for him.
Everything hinged on that game, with Champions League qualification of paramount importance to a club of United’s size.
Since achieving his goal for the season Mourinho has taken time out to enjoy the sun at the Monaco Grand Prix and while there he was inevitably asked some football-related questions.
One of which concerned the future of Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann, who has long been touted as a target of the north west club.
Clearly enjoying the early portion of his well-deserved holiday the Old Trafford boss requested not to discuss football but was willing to let the Sky Sports F1 interviewer in question know that any responsibility for signings over the summer falls on the shoulders of Ed Woodward.
