Manchester United Back In For Midfielder

Manchester United have not given up hope of signing Juventus man Arturo Vidal and have made a bid of £39.5m for the Chilean midfielder according to Italian newspaper Tuttosport.

Vidal has been linked with a  move to Manchester all summer and would be an all-action type of midfielder that would complement the pace and running ability of new signing Angel Di Maria. The Chilean is one of the finest midfielders in world football combining technical ability with a huge work rate and United boss Louis van Gaal has been tracking the 27-year-old all summer.

The Juventus man scored an impressive 18 goals from midfield last season while providing five assists and also averaging a tackle every 19 minutes, making a total of 130 tackles last year (the third highest in the league). With United currently lacking a ball winning midfielder Vidal could be van Gaal’s final bit of business of the summer.

The Red Devils boss has recently signed Daley Blind who could be used in a defensive midfield role as van Gaal looks to completely revamp the midfield. Summer arrivals Ander Herrera, Daley Blind, Angel Di Maria and the possible deadline day signing of Vidal give United with much grater options in middle of the park, and would surely provide enough quality to push for a top four finish.

Meanwhile Javier Hernandez looks set to move to Real Madrid on loan according to The Mail. The Spanish outfit have so far refused to comment on the matter but the Mexican striker is now expected to leave Old Trafford and head to the Bernabeu in loan deal. With the 26-year-old set to leave, Louis van Gaal may hang on to Danny Welbeck who was previously was linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

Japanese international Shinji Kagawa has completed his move, departing to Jurgen Klopp’s Borussia Dortmund and fellow midfielder Tom Cleverley could be set to join Aston Villa. With a number of midfielders nearing the exit door the Old Trafford faithful must be wondering is it make room for Vidal finally to arrive at Old Trafford. It has been an ongoing transfer saga all summer and we will finally get the answer today.
