Manchester United: Ander Herrera’s Twitter Q&A Shows A Real Connection With The Fans

Ander Herrera was not pictured at the Lowry Hotel on Friday with the squad for Manchester United’s third round FA Cup tie with Reading, presumably earning a well deserved rest. He took this rare time off to connect with the fans.

The Spanish midfielder has become a regular in midfield this season under Jose Mourinho and he is a firm fan favourite with the Old Trafford faithful, with some calls for him to be a future captain.

He is one of those players who just gets United and has fallen in love with the club.

The use of social media outlets by professional footballers can be a controversial subject, for example the recent Samir Nasri Twitter hack has proved severely damaging.

However, Herrera is one of football’s nice guys and committed one hour to answering a host of different questions on Twitter from his followers.

The results were very interesting and it just confirmed what an all-around great guy the former Athletic Bilbao man seems.

There’s no doubt in Herrera’s mind who the biggest club is.

A very modest player with his feet firmly on the ground.

Some banter was had at the expense of his teammates.

An away tie against the likes of Accrington Stanley or Morcambe would be something Herrera would relish.

We are looking forward to the next one already.
