Manchester United Already Looking For A Replacement For Van Gaal

Manchester United are already looking for a long term successor to 61-year-old Louis Van Gaal, according to the Evening Standard.

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is being lined up as a replacement for the experienced Dutch man. Klopp is expected to leave Dortmund when his contract finishes in 2018 and it is believed that he is the man that has been identified by the Manchester United hierarchy.

Klopp had been strongly tipped with the Manchester United job after the sacking of David Moyes, however the charismatic German is expected to see out his contract with Dortmund.

Klopp ruled out a move to Manchester in April following the departure of David Moyes.

“Man Utd is a great club and I feel very familiar with their wonderful fans. But my commitment to Borussia Dortmund and the people is not breakable.”

The 47-year-old German has established Dortmund as one of Germany most consistent teams in the last number of years. The attacking that Dortmund have played in the last number of years is something that United fans would welcome. Dortmund however have sold star players such as Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski to rivals Bayern Munich.

Klopp was German Football manager of the year in 2011 & 2012, winning two Bundesliga titles in the 2010/11 & 2011/12 seasons. The German has been manger of Dortmund since 2008, previously enjoying an 8th year tenure with fellow Bundesliga club Mainz.

Van Gaal has signed a three-year-deal and is not seen as a long term option with the Dutchman admitting that Manchester United will be his last job and Jurgen Klopp could be the man to replace the 61-year-old in 2018.

Van Gaal has reshaped the United squad in recent weeks with the high profile arrival of Falcao, Di Maria, Rojo and Blind and with a number of players leaving United will now look  to integrate all the talent into a cohesive starting XI.

Jurgen Klopp looks like the man that could end up at Old Trafford in 2018 when Van Gaal’s contract is up and the Dortmund manager is renowned as one of the most up and coming coaches in European football.
