Manchester City’s Sterling Scores Edge-Of-The-Box Screamer In Pre-Season Friendly

Manchester City now return to Europe for their final pre-season game against Stuttgart this coming Saturday having concluded their pre-season tour with a resounding 8-1 victory over a Vietnamese XI.

A free-kick early on from Aleksandar Kolarov set City on their way to victory, however it was Raheem Sterling’s sublime strike, and first of two goals for the England international, which stood out from the Citizens’ 8-1 triumph.

The goal came about when David Silva lost possession at the edge of the opposition’s box. The ball subsequently landed fortuitously at the ex-Liverpool man’s feet, only for Sterling to curl a well-taken strike into the right hand side of Vietnam’s goal.

Although the margin of victory clearly shows their was a massive gulf in class, Sterling’s strike, just inside 19 minutes, dissipated any hopes that this would turn out to be a tight game.

Watch the 20-year-old’s goal below as well as highlights of the entire game.
