Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal for young Ukrainian midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Sources at ESPN are claiming that the club have agreed a deal that will see the 19 year old move to the City of Manchester Stadium for the new season.
The report states that new Man City boss Pep Guardiola fought off strong interest from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund to secure his signature.
The Shakhtar Donetsk academy graduate, who now plies his trade in the Russian Premier league with FC Ufa, made his debut for the Ukrainian senior national side in 2015, and broke national legend Andriy Shevchenko’s record by becoming the side’s youngest ever goalscorer when he netted in a friendly against Romania earlier this year.
Zinchencko was part of Mykhaylo Fomenko’s Ukraine squad for Euro 2016, and while he came on as a substitute in two games, he was unable to have a significant impact as they crashed out of the competition without scoring a single goal.
The winger has played 31 times for Ufa since making his debut against Krasnodar in March, scoring twice in that time. Due to his age, hie is more likely to be placed into the Manchester City development squad rather than placed in the first team panel straight away.
