Manchester City on Friday evening announced the signing of Bernardo Silva from Monaco in a deal Sky Sports report is worth in the region of £43 million.
The 22-year-old joins up with Pep Guardiola’s side having been one of the standout performers in Europe this term, gaining him admirers from across the continent.
With so many attacking midfield options at the former Barcelona coach’s fingertips just exactly where he will fit in may be slightly unclear at the moment but with David Silva now the wrong side of 30 he will ease any gap made by the Spaniard’s departure, which will, in all likelihood, come around in the next couple of seasons.
Making twelve assists this term in all competitions and hitting the back of the net eleven times, City fans are understandably excited by his arrival.
Taking to Twitter, it is clear the Citizens are waiting with bated breath for next season to begin already.

Can’t profess to have seen a lot of Ligue 1 but UCL performances make me a bit giddy on this one. Excited to learn more. #WelcomeBernardo
