Manchester City are on the cusp of signing German winger Leroy Sane for a figure that is believed to be as high as £46 million, according to Bild (via the Daily Mail).

Sane, who plies his trade for Schalke, is said to have already agreed personal terms with Pep Guardiola’s side and is to sign a four-year contract with the Citizens, keeping him at the club until 2020.

At just 20 years of age Sane impressed last season in the Bundesliga, with his performances ultimately earning him a call-up to the national side last November.

He was also included in the squad that travelled to France for Euro 2016, where Germany were knocked out by the hosts at the semi-final stage.

The German wonder-kid could be City’s third high profile signing this summer, with Ilkay Gundogan joining from Borussia Dortmund and Spain international Nolito moving from Celta Vigo.

City were also thought to have been bidding for Juventus player Leonardo Bonucci, but will not meet the Italian club’s asking price, according to ESPN.
