Manchester United have reportedly come to Leicester City with a bid for central defender Harry Maguire.
Sky Sports news have claimed that the Red Devils have approached the Foxes with an official offer to take the England international to Old Trafford, alleged to be in the region of £65m.

Leicester, despite the summer signing of former Man United defender Jonny Evans, would be loath to lose Maguire, particularly so soon after the £60m sale of Riyad Mahrez. As such, they have apparently told Man United to look elsewhere.

However, the report suggests that Maguire would like to move to Jose Mourinho’s side if given the opportunity.
Central defence has seemingly become a priority position for Mourinho in this transfer window despite the signings of Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof in the past two summers. Maguire’s potential signing would surely mean that one of those two, along with the likes of Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, would suddenly start to feel nervous about their future at the club.
Maguire, for his part, has seen his stock rise considerably since starring for England at the World Cup. He joined Leicester in a £17m deal from Hull City in 2017, but his displays in Russia have led to both Man United firming up their interest, and the 25-year-old’s price tag skyrocketing. He also claimed Leicester’s Player of the Year award after a fine debut season at the King Power.
£65m, if indeed that is the offer, would potentially make Maguire the second most expensive defender of all time, second only to Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk.
