Watch: Sean Maguire Maintains Hot Streak With Yet Another Goal For Preston

Sean Maguire is certainly making up for lost time at Preston, scoring his fourth goal in three games at Deepdale on Saturday.

The Irish international was making his first start this weekend having recently recovered from a hamstring injury that had kept him out of action for four months, and he has since been showing Preston fans exactly what they have been missing.

With Preston up against Championship play-off rivals Fulham, Alex Neil knew his side would be up against it – and when in-form Aleksandar Mitrovic put the visitors in front, the hosts knew that they would have it all to do to get back into the match.

However, the returning Maguire played a key role in getting his side back into it, just as he was against Bolton last weekend and versus Bristol City in midweek. As Cork City fans can attest to, Maguire is a fine header of the ball despite his relatively short stature, and the former Leesider displayed this once again by meeting Ben Pearson’s cross and heading past Marcus Bettinelli in the Fulham goal.

Unfortunately for the Lilywhites, Mitrovic added his second in injury time to ensure that Fulham would be leaving with all three points.

That said, Preston fans are still delighted to have Maguire back and in-form, as they look to secure a top-six finish in England’s second tier.
