On Monday afternoon, Premier League fans around the world were intrigued as news emerged that odds were being slashed on Louis van Gaal making his return to English football.
Everton are without a permanent manager since parting company with Ronald Koeman last month and, although Louis van Gaal has never been listed as a serious candidate for the job, a flurry of bets on the Dutchman being appointed at Goodison Park have seen odds plummeting from 40/1 to 4/1.
SURELY NOT…?! ?
Louis Van Gaal is 4/1 (from 40/1) to be the next Everton manager! ?

Van Gaal has been out of a job since leaving Old Trafford in 2016, and although he is not openly searching for a job, the Dutchman has stated that he is not officially retired.
Under the ‘Iron Tulip’s’ tutelage, United were infamously static and stuttered in their play and, speaking recently about Everton’s disastrous start to the season, Martin Keown compared The Toffees to Van Gaal’s United.

However, it wasn’t all bad under Van Gaal’s leadership at United with the Red Devils finishing in the top four in 2015 and winning the FA Cup under the Dutchman before his sacking in 2016.
The best moment under Louis van Gaal.
