The FAI have confirmed that six SSE Airtricity League Premier Division matches have been selected for television broadcast across late March and April.
As has been the case already this season, the broadcasting duties be divided across RTE and eir Sport, with the former showing four and the latter, two.
The RTE cameras will be at the RSC to show in-form Waterford FC take on Shamrock Rovers on Friday, March 23th – in what will be a packed evening of football with Martin O’Neill’s Ireland side taking on Turkey earlier that evening.
RTE Sport will also have have live coverage from the new Brandywell for the first time the folllowing week, as Derry City host St. Patrick’s Athletic on Good Friday (March 30th).
For the third Friday in succession, the state broadcaster will also have live Premier Division football the next week as Dundalk welcome Shamrock Rovers to Oriel Park.
The following Friday, eir Sport take up the mantle (as had previously been announced) with coverage of Shamrock Rovers v Bohemians in Tallaght. Bohs are also the focus of the following week’s live game (again on eir Sport), as Keith Long’s side welcome champions Cork City to Dalymount Park on April 20th.
Finally, on April 27th, the battle of Cork City and Dundalk in Turner’s Cross will be live on RTE television.
With one live match per week to look forward to, there will be plenty of football on offer for League of Ireland fans to look forward to as we head towards the summer.
