Liverpool’s New Third-Choice Kit For Next Season Is Getting Serious Nods Of Approval

Liverpool Third

Though it hasn’t been officially announced yet, pictures of Liverpool’s third-choice kit for next season are already in the public domain.

Fans fearing the worst after last year’s “Toxic Thunder” monstrosity can rest easy, however, as the shirt for next season looks decidedly normal in comparison.

That said, it does contain element an of unchartered territory about the kit, as the orange colour is not one that Liverpool have typically been associated with down the years.

With Liverpool in the Champions League once again the season, the standard practice of the club (certainly in the Benitez years at least) was to use the third kit as the European away one, so as to give it greater exposure. It’s unknown if Liverpool will do that here too, but that is a question that may get answered when the strip is officially unveiled.

Nonetheless, Liverpool fans, having been markedly uncertain about the white away shirt, have given much more favourable reviews to this one:

Although, some have noted that the colour may have been chosen with a certain £70m Dutch defender in mind…

It’s also not quite clear what colour the shorts and socks will be, but again all should be revealed soon enough.

On this week’s episode of the Mixer Irish football podcast, we chatted to Shelbourne manager Owen Heary and looked ahead to Irish sides’ big week in Europe, as well as the usual League of Ireland news.
