On a rough week for Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp (rough few weeks, in fact), they have finally received some good news.
Senegal. seen as African Cup of Nations favourites by many, have been knocked out of the competition unexpectedly by Cameroon, losing 5-4 on penalties after a scoreless draw in Gabon.
What this means, of course, is that forward Sadio Mané, so badly missed by the side during their bleak spell in January, will be returning to Melwood in the next few days to rejoin Liverpool for the remainder of their league campaign.
As if to add to the sense of drama and occasion, it was Mané himself who missed the decisive spot kick to send his side home and Cameroon through to the semi-finals.
Liverpool fans tried their best to feel empathy for Mané’s personal bit of bad luck, but mostly they are just delighted that he will be returning to inject some much-needed pace into the Reds’ attack in the near future.

@LFC commiserations, yes. But need to get him back to Merseyside. Where’s that jet Firmino and Coutinho were being whisked out of Brazil on?

Mane swift return tempered by the fact he’s the one who missed the vital penalty. Klopp might need to hug rather than kick him in the back.

Despite Mané’s imminent return, it would be a huge surprise if he is even being considered for the Chelsea match at Anfield on Tuesday. Indeed, he far more likely to be restored to the squad for the match against Hull next weekend.
