According to a report in The Mirror today, Barcelona have joined PSG in the pursuit for Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho.
The Brazilian is currently on international duty, so no move will be happening in the immediate few weeks.
The 23 year-old playmaker is highly rated, but Liverpool are not happy with PSG’s £25 million valuation of the star, and this fee would need to be far higher if they were to consider selling him.
Coutinho has been a revelation since joining the Reds in 2013, and while it is believed that Jurgen Klopp is eager to build his own side this summer, most believe that Coutinho would surely be in the German’s plans.
Coutinho offers an attacking edge to the side, and can move forward and bang in some amazing goals.
While Liverpool would be keen to hold onto the midfielder, the lure of playing with one of Europe’s current premier clubs would be tempting, and with Barcelona and PSG champions of La Liga and Ligue 1 respectively, Coutinho may be weighing up his options.
However, up to this point there has not been much talk of the Brazil international leaving the Merseysiders, so it is either early days in this story, or it is simply a rumour.
