Since Jurgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, Liverpool have been linked with a wide range of players but they were very quiet in the January transfer market besides bringing in Steven Caulker on loan and signing Marko Grujic but sending him back out on loan for the rest of the season.
This hasn’t stopped the rumours that Klopp is planning a massive clear-out and makeover for the Liverpool squad in the summer. This isn’t unfamiliar territory for the German as in his first season at Dortmund he sold 17 players and brought in 13 new faces and according to reports the German is already drawing up a list of summer targets to improve his squad. Regardless of how Liverpool’s season ends, there are many players around the world who would love to play for Jurgen Klopp and according to the media this weekend, there is one Brazilian who is willing to throw his name into the hat.
ITA Sport Press are reporting that Liverpool are lining up a summer move for PSG and Brazil winger Lucas Moura in the summer. Although, they are not alone in the race to sign the Brazilian as Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in the 23 year old. Lucas Moura told the press this weekend that he was close to joining United before signing for PSG and the reason behind his rejection of the move to the Manchester club was due to the fact that he wanted to join some of his fellow Brazilians at PSG.
This longing to play alongside fellow Brazilians led to Lucas Moura commenting on Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho who he was full of praise for as he stated,
“Coutinho is showing his quality in Liverpool and deserves all the credits for what he’s been doing. I think Liverpool and Brazil supporters can only expect Coutinho’s football to get better and better”.
If rumours are true that Liverpool are lining up a move for Lucas Moura in the summer then the appeal of joining fellow Brazilians Coutinho, Firmino and Lucas at Anfield may be tempting for the PSG winger. Liverpool fans would be excited about a potential deal to bring Moura to Anfield as the idea of having Firmino, Coutinho and Lucas Moura in the same side would bring plenty of talent and ability to a side that is currently failing to impress. So far this season, the PSG winger has managed to score eight times and created four assists while he has an impressive successful passing rate of 86.2%.
Klopp has stated recently that having a lack of Champions League football will not affect their ability to bring in top players in the summer as he explained,
“I don’t like it when players say ah but you are not in the Champions League. We want you because we want to get into the Champions League. If you don’t want to help us and want to jump on a running train, then go somewhere else”.
