Mario Balotelli is in trouble again following his refusal to acknowledge the Liverpool fans after the Champions League loss to Basel.
It seems Mario Balotelli has landed himself in hot water again, thanks to an ill-advised snub of the travelling Liverpool support after last night’s shambolic defeat in the Champions League.
Manager Brendan Rodgers had asked his players to acknowledge the fans after the full time whistle in Basel, but the controversial Italian ignored the request and marched straight down the tunnel. The Reds boss tried to play down the incident, he was quoted in The Star as saying:
“Mario worked hard, he knows his job is to create and to get into the area. We are working hard on it. I’m not sure if he went back out to say thanks to the fans as I came straight in.”
However in private the Northern Irishman must be fuming at Balotelli whose individual performance was a lowlight in this dismal 1-0 defeat, a result which leaves Liverpool with an uphill battle to qualify from their group.
