Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez faced off as Argentina beat Uruguay last night, and they engaged in some hilarious trash talk pre-match.

The Barcelona team-mates have enjoyed an incredible partnership since Suarez signed from the Catalan giants from Liverpool, but they were eager to rip each other to shreds.

With this being Messi’s first game back in the national team set-up since revoking his retirement decision, Suarez was keen to poke fun at the Barcelona great.




Messi certainly had the last laugh, scoring the winner in a tight World Cup qualification encounter between the two countries.

The lethal pair reunite on the 10th of September for what could be quite a high scoring La Liga game at home to Alaves, before a start to Barca’s Champions League group stage with an exciting clash against Scottish champions Celtic.
