Watch: Jesse Lingard Scores A Beauty As England Run Riot Against Panama

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, RUSSIA - JUNE 24: Jesse Lingard of England scores his team's third goal during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia group G match between England and Panama at Nizhniy Novgorod Stadium on June 24, 2018 in Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia. (Photo by Ian MacNicol/Getty Images)

England have responded to their last-gasp Tunisia victory on Monday night by putting Panama to the sword in their second Group G encounter on Sunday.

Gareth Southgate’s men took a bit of criticism for their performance against the African side in their opener, with the late winner sparing a few blushes and keeping the Three Lions in contention to win the group.

No such problems against Panama, however, as early goals from John Stones and Harry Kane effectively put the tie as a contest before Jesse Lingard got in on the action ten minutes before half time. The Manchester United forward has a nice habit of scoring spectacular goals from long range, and this one was right up there with the best.

Lingard played a neat one-two with Raheem Sterling outside the box before launching a brilliant curling strike that gave Panama goalkeeper Jaime Penedo no chance.

England have since scored twice more, from Stones after a well-worked free-kick routine and another bullet of a penalty from Kane, as the side have run riot against a Panama side that has been reduced to cannon fodder.

The score, at the time of writing, is 5-0 to England at half time, and this could get much more emphatic as the game goes on.
