Although much of the talk since this transfer window had suggested that Romelu Lukaku would be on his way back to Chelsea, it now seems as if another Belgian forward will be heading to the Bridge.
22 year-old Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi has been the subject of several bids of late with several reports bizarrely noting that Crystal Palace had had a whopping €38m bid accepted for his services.
However, it seems the Belgian has his sights set on bigger things and, according to multiple sources on Wednesday morning, Batshuayi is destined to join up with Antonio Conte and the Chelsea squad next season.
Currently with the Belgian squad at Euro 2016, the 22-year-old stated that he did not want to think about his club future and that his thoughts were entirely focused on the task at hand with the national squad.
‘I don’t think about that, I prefer to concentrate 100 per cent on the Euros, then we will see what happens,’ he told Sky Sports News.
‘Everybody likes the Premier League. It has a lot of spectacle, a lot of goals and many good players,’ he added.
However, it seems that Batshuayi has been distracted somewhat by the enticing move to Chelsea as today, he has given a strong indication on social media of where his future lies.
Suddenly following a raft of Chelsea related accounts (including the official club instagram, Adidas, Didier Drogba, Kurt Zouma and the Chelsea ladies team) the Belgian forward has certainly given a strong indication that this deal is done.
The latest reports on Batshuayi’s move now claim that he will complete his Chelsea medical on Wednesday in France with Conte sending a medical team to the Euros to perform the assessment.
Batshuayi scored an impressive 17 goals in 26 Ligue 1 appearances last season.
