Leicester City’s reward for dumping Sevilla out of the Champions League last sixteen is another trip to Spain, to face 2016 finalists Atlético Madrid.
Craig Shakespeare’s side defied the odds to get to the last eight stage and while they are very much the underdogs to progress to the last four, last season’s Premier League champions will still believe that anything is possible on the road to Cardiff in May.
Despite Sevilla’s exit, La Liga still most participants of the final eight with Barcelona and reigning champions Real Madrid joining the aforementioned Atlético in the next round with varying degrees of stress and excitement.
Zinedine Zidane’s Real will compete in the tie of the round against Bayern Munich, whose manager Carlo Ancelotti won the trophy with Real in 2014.
Meanwhile, a repeat of the 2015 final sees Juventus take on Barcelona, while Borussia Dortmund and Monaco will be delighted to have drawn each other in the last eight and avoid the big three.
