Tottenham winger Erik Lamela may have let slip that Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado is leaving the club.
The Spanish forward, who cost Spurs £26m, has largely failed to impress Premier League fans with his ability in front of goal, but has been a mainstay in the Tottenham side since his arrival from Valencia two years ago.
According to reports, Soldado was spotted at Gatwick airport this morning telling fans he was on his way to sign for La Liga side Villareal, and Lamela’s since deleted tweet seems to have confirmed the move.

Soldado managed just seven Premier League goals, but did always work his socks off for the team, to use an old cliche. With the impending arrival of Lyon forward Clinton N’Jie, Spurs fans may not miss Soldado for his goalscoring exploits, but the 30-year-old has earned the fans’ respect.
He was never a regular feature in our fantasy team, but we wish him well!
