With both domestic and European results declining rapidly, Manchester United are experiencing one of the worst periods in their history.
Liverpool, meanwhile, are thriving with Jurgen Klopp’s young and energetic side quickly becoming serious title contenders. Besides a blip away to Burnley, the Reds have been phenomenal this season and if they could shore up their defence, it’s hard to look past them for a major trophy if not lifting the title.
Klopp has decided to rub salt in United’s gaping wound after the 20-time champions lost out to Fenerbahce last night and now look likely to exit the Europa League at the group stage.
Famously funny in his dealings with the press, this may be the German’s best line yet.
Reporter: “Is it useful not having European football this season?”
Klopp: “I am not too sure. Maybe you can ask Manchester United in January.”
It’s a cheap shot, but a brilliant one all the same.
Mourinho is definitely gonna have to respond to Klopp with that comment lmao
