Chelsea booked their place in the last four of the FA Cup on Monday night with a 1-0 win against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
As was the league meeting earlier in the season Antonio Conte’s side came away with the win (albeit less comprehensive than the previous 4-0 drubbing) and central to the win was midfielder N’Golo Kanté.
Much was made about the potential tussle between Kanté and the Man United pairing of Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera, but the French international was imperious over both and showed exactly why he has been so important to Chelsea’s near-certain title-winning campaign.

The 25-year-old was everywhere – covering ground, intercepting, tackling, and even found time to score the winner five minutes into the second half.
YouTube user Shpendi10CFC compiled a highlight reel of Kanté’s best moments in Monday night’s victory, and frankly, it can cause exhaustion just by looking at it.
According to Whoscored, the French international registered four clearances, one interception, a passing accuracy of 84% and with 90 touches of the ball was behind only César Azpilicueta and Eden Hazard (and almost 40 above any Man United player).
Kanté is expected to sweep the boards at this year’s end of season football awards, as well as becoming only the second player in the Premier League’s existence to receive two Premier League medals in succession with two different clubs (and it’s safe to say he’ll have more an impact in both that Mark Schwarzer, the only other player to achieve that feat).
In the meantime, Chelsea march on to Wembley, with a showdown with city rivals Tottenham Hotspur the last remaining obstacle between them and another FA Cup final.
