Manchester United have lacked creativity this season.
After spending nearly £150 million last summer, it doesn’t look as if Jose Mourniho’s rebuild of Manchester United is going to slow down.
Throughout the past number of weeks, reports have linked a number of players with moves away from Old Trafford after the new United boss didn’t seem too impressed by the performances of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Memphis Depay, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Matteo Darmian.
However, as United’s squad has looked stretched at times this season, if Mourinho is to offload any of the above players, he will have to replace them if the club are to launch a credible campaign to reassert themselves as a top four club.
Nevertheless, although a number of potential transfer targets have been mentioned in the media, nothing concrete has so far been established.
Although the 28 year-old may have only signed a four year contract extension last July, Willian has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte.
This it seems has sparked United’s interest and could see them potentially move for Mourinho’s former stalworth.
While such a deal maybe unlikely, it does make an awful lot of sense for both clubs, and could see Willian add some much needed pace out wide for United.
