Jose Mourinho Calls Out Paul Scholes’ Poor Punditry After Latest Man Utd Criticism

Jose Mourinho has fired back at Paul Scholes after the former Manchester United midfielder once again heavily criticised the club that used to sign his pay cheques.

Since hanging up his playing boots and turning to punditry, Scholes hasn’t exactly risen to the heights of Gary Neville or Jamie Carragher and it seems like the former Manchester United midfielder’s comments only gain traction when he’s slating the club that he used to ply his trade with.

Speaking after the Red Devils draw against Southampton over the weekend, Scholes slammed the attitude of United’s squad under Mourinho while he also claimed that Paul Pogba is half the player he was at Juventus.

They’re underperforming. I don’t think there’s any doubt they’re underperforming.

It’s just a lack of urgency to me, like I said before, it seems like they’re winning 3-0 every game, and they don’t need to score a goal. There’s no actual fight to them at all?

Asked about Scholes’ comments after Red Devil’s 2-0 victory at Goodison Park on Monday evening, ‘The Special One’ did not hold back on the former United great essentially labelling the 43-year-old as a poor pundit.

“I think the only thing Paul Scholes does is to criticise. I don’t think he comments, I think he criticises, which is a different thing, but not every one of us has to be phenomenal, like he was as a player…”

“But I think Scholesy will be in the history like a phenomenal player, not as a pundit.”
