Jamie Carragher-Danny Simpson Twitter Spat Takes Unexpected New Turn

Jamie Carragher and Danny Simpson’s protracted Twitter spat has taken another strange twist, to say the least.

Following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking in February the Liverpudlian Sky Sports pundit was one of the first to criticise the Leicester players over their reaction to his dismissal in a game against his former club.

Just days after the Italian departed the Foxes gave one of their greatest performances of the season beating the Reds 3-1, illustrating the fact they weren’t giving it their all for the outgoing manager, according to Carragher.

Simpson responded at the time with a cheeky tweet, taking aim at the Anfield legend’s lack of a Premier League winner’s medal.

Before Carragher responded with this:

It had appeared as though the 30-year-old had come out victorious in this particular back and forth following this tweet:

However, the former England international’s response was worth the wait as he rustled up this tongue-in-cheek retort on Sunday:

The reaction from both Liverpool and Leicester fans has, as you’d expect, been incessant all day long.
