Jamie Carragher And Danny Simpson Go To War On Twitter After Leicester Criticism

Danny Simpson and Jamie Carragher locked horns on Twitter on Wednesday morning after the former Liverpool stalwart attacked Leicester’s players earlier in the week.

After Leicester City romped to victory over Liverpool on Monday evening, Jamie Carragher stated that both sides should have been ashamed of themselves at the full time whistle.

Referring to the fact that Claudio Ranieri had been sacked just days before hand, Carragher suggested that Leicester simply weren’t trying for their former boss, and that their performance on Monday evening was proof of exactly that.

“Leicester were brilliant but they won the game by hunger and energy,” Carragher said on Monday Night Football.

“That’s not about tactics, it’s about what’s inside you. We just saw a team fully committed.”

“I’ve been watching football for a long time and I don’t think I’ve seen two teams who should come off the pitch holding their heads in shame.”

The Sky Sports pundit and former Liverpool star went training with Everton on Tuesday and was pictured wearing a Toffees kit while apparently preparing for an interview with Romelu Lukaku.

Given Carragher’s status a club legend at Anfield, his decision to throw on an Everton kit left him open to some criticism and, having fired serious shots at Leicester on Monday, Danny Simpson was quick to take his opportunity to get one back at Carragher.
