Jack Wilshere Ruled Out For The Rest Of The Season Following Leg Break

Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, on loan at Bournemouth this season, has played his final game of this campaign and could even miss the start of the next.

The 25-year-old, according to Sky Sports, has been struck with the same injury that kept him out of much of the 2015/16 season, a broken fibula.

Shortly after the hour-mark during Saturday’s clash between the Cherries and Spurs, Wilshere stayed down after a coming together with Harry Kane. The home fans jeered the midfielder as he left the pitch.

It’s another blow in a seemingly never-ending run of bad luck for the Englishman who burst on to the first-team scene at the Emirates almost nine years ago, aged just 16. Despite his undeniable talents, he’s struggled to prove himself on the big stage with consecutive serious injuries hampering his development massively.

Wilshere will presumably now return to his parent club but it would appear his time with the Gunners is over with his current contract running out at the end of this season.

The mercurial playmaker completed his switch to the south coast on deadline day last August in one of the more dramatic deals of the day. In his 27 appearances for Eddie Howe’s side, he’s yet to find the net but has received widespread praise for his performances.
