Choose The Starting XI Ireland Should Play Against Switzerland

The Republic of Ireland play Switzerland on Thursday night in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

The game could prove decisive for Ireland’s qualification campaign. Mick McCarthy’s side are currently top of Group D, with 10 points from four games.

They are five points clear of second-place Denmark, who have a game in hand, and six points ahead of Switzerland. However, the Swiss, who are ranked 11th in the world, have two games in hand due to their involvement in the Nations League finals. So, a positive result is essential for McCarthy’s side on Thursday night.

The Ireland starting team appears easy to predict – with Mick likely to opt for (almost) the same starting XI that played against Denmark in June. (Robbie Brady played that night but will miss the Switzerland game through injury. Callum Robinson will replace him).

However, here is your chance to pick the team you would like to see line-out against Switzerland at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday.

Just fill in the poll below and let us know who you want to start. We’ll publish the results tomorrow afternoon. Select your Ireland team for the game here:
