Ireland are in Tbilisi today for a crucial World Cup qualifier against Georgia, as the Boys in Green look to solidify their place in the top two of Group D. Should the Boys in Green gain three points, as they have done in their seven previous competitive games against the eastern European outfit, then they can look ahead to Tuesday’s home game against Serbia with confidence.
As always with Martin O’Neill’s team selections, there are several question marks lingering all week. The potential inclusion of Wes Hoolahan is always a hot topic, while the absence of James McCarthy and Jeff Hendrick in the midfield throws open several possibilities in the midfield.
With just over an hour to go until kick-off, the Irish management have announced their team, and as always, there is a big call in there.
Shane Long has been included, despite many predicting Walters to start up top on his own.
Harry Arter will play alongside Glenn Whelan in midfield, as Robbie Brady and James McClean will add pace outside.
