Last night in Antalya, Colin Doyle won his second cap for Ireland, a remarkable 11 years after his debut against Ecuador in 2007.
The Bradford City shot-stopper put in a solid shift throughout, being called into action with some of Turkey’s long-range efforts, and he couldn’t have been blamed for the goal which was conceded.
Doyle will be hoping that he doesn’t have to wait another decade for his third cap, but with Darren Randolph and Keiren Westwood set to return, he might be up against it.
Of course, during an international break, there is no top-tier action in England as clubs are missing some of their biggest stars. There are no Premier League nor Championship games this weekend, but it’s a case of business as usual in League One, where Doyle’s Bradford City ply their trade.
Today, the Bantams take on Gillingham, and Doyle has been named in their starting teamsheet.
The shot-stopper made his way from Turkey back to England, but is looking fit and firing for the game after making the long trip.

No stopping him!
