Paul Pogba’s seemingly endless transfer saga has taken another surprising turn.
Reports from Gazzetta, an Italian publication, have some major updates in the pursuit of the French starlet. It claims:
“Real Madrid are ready to go toe-to-toe with Manchester United in the race for Juventus star Paul Pogba, with the world record transfer fee a certainty to be broken.
“Jose Mourinho’s club will present an official offer worth somewhere between €100-120 million right after the Euro 2016 final.
“Zinedine Zidane…has asked his directors to match United’s offer.”
The report adds:
“For now, Juventus could very well reject the world record offer, but if Pogba pushes for a move then the Bianconeri are open to negotiations for their highly-coveted star and would encourage a bidding war between Real and United.
“It is believed that Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola is pushing his client to a move to Old Trafford.“
Gazzetta are not the most reliable source out there but have been proven right on a number of occasions.
Since leaving Manchester back in 2012, Pogba’s star has risen rapidly. His performances for Juve have gone a long way to ensuring the Serie A title stay in Turin for the last four seasons.
He is believed to be Jose Mourinho’s final target of the summer window, the mysterious fourth player in the Portuguese coach’s cross-hairs. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Frenchman is the Special One’s top priority, he fits the mould of a midfielder that Jose has long admired. His industry, physical size and shape, speed and ability in both ends of the pitch surely appeals to United’s new boss.
It remains to be seen whether or not he gets his wish and bring Pogba back to Manchester in what would surely be the transfer of the century.
