The Incredible Twitter Reaction To Manchester United’s Second Signing In As Many Days

Mkhitaryan's arrival could signal the end of Juan Mata's time with United.

Ed’s at it again.

Less than 24 hours after Manchester United confirmed the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has managed to snatch another top player.

Borussia Dortmund have announced this afternoon that their star playmaker, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, is also United-bound.

Fans across Twitter reacted in suitable style.

Many fans however turned to the potential repercussions of Micki’s arrival.

While the jettisoning of Juan Mata or Jesse Lingard, to this writer, seems absurd, the droves on Twitter may be right. Mata in particular has likely played his last game in the famed strip.

He has been a fantastic servant in my eyes. Criminally misused and underappreciated. Marouane Fellaini is still at the club and yet one of the club’s most creative players is being shown the door. Mind-boggling to think the lumbering, pathetic Belgian played ahead of the diminutive Spaniard.

Lingard meanwhile simply must stay at the club. Only a person of worryingly low football intellect would suggest his time is up.
