Alex Bruce Finds Out He’s Been Released By Hull In The Most Brutal Way Possible

Being dumped by social media is not a new phenomenon, but Hull City defender Alex Bruce has found out the hard way that not even footballers are immune to such treatment.

The Northern Ireland international (who also has two caps for the Republic of Ireland to his name) hasn’t played for the Tigers at all this season, and indeed finished the season on loan at Championship side Wigan Athletic.

With Hull relegated at the end of the season, they have decided to release a number of fringe players in order to trim the wage bill and help the rebuild for next season. That list is headed by Bruce son of former manager Steve, and includes mostly academy players.

Unfortunately, nobody at the club thought to let Alex know that the announcement was being made, and as such found out at the same time as everybody else on social media. Still, he was able to see the funny side of it at least.

That being said, this tweet from just four days ago suggests that this should not have been a massive surprise to him…

The 32-year-old has been linked with a reunion with his father at Aston Villa, with the pair having worked together on several occasions in the past.
