Aston Villa and Ireland midfielder Conor Hourihane sealed the Second City derby in style on Sunday with a sensational strike.
With Villa already 1-0 up heading into the closing stages against Birmingham on Sunday afternoon, the 26-year-old composed himself on the edge of the area before unleashing a brilliantly-placed dipping half-volley that gave Birmingham goalkeeper David Stockdale absolutely no chance of keeping out.

It was the Corkman’s sixth league goal of the season, and will do his chances of playing his way into Martin O’Neill’s Ireland plans no harm whatsoever.
Scott Hogan came close to putting his name on the scoresheet too, but his well-struck half volley in the first half cannoned off the crossbar, while Glenn Whelan also enjoyed some minutes on the pitch as a late substitute.
Villa were able to see out the tie, and claim their seventh Championship win on the bounce. More importantly, however, the victory takes Steve Bruce’s side to second place in the table, and although Wolves look out of sight at the top of the table, that second promotion spot is very much up for grabs.
