Interviewed on French television on Thursday evening, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was faced with a rather bizarre proposition.
It is well known that Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho do not get along very well. Although Wenger manages to remain the more classier of the pair by often refusing to comment directly on the new Manchester United manager, Mourinho himself seems to have a pop at the Arsenal man even when the subject is completely unrelated.
In 2014, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ infamously referred to Wenger as a ‘specialist in failure’. However, that statement wasn’t long biting Mourinho where it hurts as the Portuguese was sacked by Chelsea for a dreadful run of results.

Just two weeks ago, multiple reports claimed that, as Arsenal were looking to sign a new centre-back, they had approached Manchester United inquiring about the availability of Phil Jones. They were dismissed with reports claiming that, such is his disliking for Wenger, Mourinho simply refuses to do business with Arsenal.
However, despite the latest twist in their ongoing feud, Wenger once again chose to take the high ground on Thursday evening. Faced with a bizarre proposition in which the Arsenal manager was asked to shake the hand of a cardboard Mourinho, the Professor stated, ‘one never refuses to shake another’s hand.’
