Manchester United could be about to sensationally offload Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
For most Manchester United fans, Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains an unknown quantity. Brilliant at Borussia Dortmund last season, but unable to break into Jose Mourinho’s starting XI.
Despite United’s lack of creativity in the final third, Mourinho remains unconvinced by Mkhitaryan’s ability, and has instead insisted that the playermaker “has to do more”.
This has raised obvious comparisons with Shinji Kagawa, and like the the Japanese international, Mkhitaryan could be on the verge of a return to Dortmund.
This news comes after The Sunday People this morning reported that the Bundesliga club are planning to make contact with United to enquire as to Mkhitaryan’s possible availability during the January transfer window.
Although Dortmund are only believed to be interested in signing the playmaker on a loan deal, their highly-regarded coach Tomas Tuchel, has become alarmed at the extent of Mkhitaryan’s decline.
If he was to return to the Westfalenstadion, it could pave the way for United to move for Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco.
The Belgian international has been in red hot form in recent weeks, involving himself in nine goals during his last seven games with club and country.

Although the Sunday Mirror don’t quote a potential transfer fee, Carrasco becomes the third Atletico player linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months, joining a shortlist that includes Antoine Griezmann and Jose Gimenez.
Of course it’s unlikely that the trio of players will all join Manchester United, Griezmann alone would cost between €80 and €100 million, while Gimenez is said to be valued at around €30 million.
Nevertheless, as Diego Simeone has raised the prospect of leaving the Vicente Calderón next summer, a number of Atletico’s players could also become available.
