Hector Moreno Tweets Message Of Support For Manchester United’s Shaw

PSV Eindhoven’s Hector Moreno has wished Luke Shaw a speedy recovery following his leg-fracturing tackle on the young defender in the Dutch club’s Champions League clash with Manchester United on Tuesday night.

With just 15 minutes on the clock Shaw went on a mazy run past PSV’s defensive midfielders before Moreno came across with a sliding tackle.

Although Moreno clearly makes contact with the ball, replays show that his right foot was raised quite high at the time.

According to Manchester United’s official website, Shaw suffered a double fracture to his leg resulting from the collision, which may now leave him sidelined for a number of months.

Moreno was visibly upset by the incident, as we can see from his immediate reaction last night. He has since tweeted his best wishes to the England international.

Although United’s defensive options are plentiful, Shaw is one of the few out-and-out left backs in the side. His performances so far this season have been impressive too, so it leaves Louis van Gaal with a headache in the back line.

Marcos Rojo makes for a natural replacement while Daley Blind will now likely spend the entire season in centre-back despite his clear ability to play in midfield.

Having lost their opening game to PSV, life back in the Champions League has not been very fortunate. This loss, coupled with what could be a season-ending injury for Shaw means United’s European escapades have already been heavily dented.
