Harry Kane Hands Tottenham & England Massive Headache Following Latest Injury

Tottenham Hotspur and England have become seriously reliant on Harry Kane over the last season or two, so when the in-form striker comes a cropper with another injury fans should rightly be concerned.

The 24-year-old has arguably been England’s best attacking force in recent times and has played a very significant part in dragging the London side up to third in the Premier League table.

A recent hamstring injury kept him out of Spurs’ clash with Manchester United, a game the side from the capital lost 1-0 and a result that further emphasised his importance to manager Mauricio Pochettino’s title aspirations.

Returning for the league clash with top flight strugglers Crystal Palace at the weekend, Kane suffered a knee injury, which will now keep him out of England’s upcoming friendlies with Germany and Brazil.

Speaking to the  Daily Mail, Kane admitted that while he doesn’t expect this latest injury to have any lingering effects, he is conscious and wary of burning out.

“The hamstrings are fine but we’ve got keep an eye on it. It’s something that’s happened and we don’t want it to happen again. It’s about maintaining it. It’s a long old season.

“If I’m fit and called upon I’m happy to play. It’s always an honour to play for my country. I’d never turn that down. So we’ll see what happens.

“It’s always a case of managing your fitness. We play so many games and we’ve had so many high-intensity games — Manchester United, Real Madrid and Liverpool — it takes it out of you.

“I’m in the same boat as everyone else. We play a lot of games and you have to deal with it. Away from football, the recovery is just as important and that’s what I’ll try to do.”

With 14 goals in all competitions this season, Spurs cannot afford to see their star player sidelined for long. When he lines out for his club there is a genuine threat for defenders to sweat about.

In his absence, however, Pochettino’s side appear more bark than bite, so fans will be looking at this latest niggle with a certain nervousness that they would prefer not to be feeling at this time of year.
