Pep Guardiola is in advanced talks to bring Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcántara to Manchester City, according to a report in Spanish newspaper El Confidencial.
If the deal goes through, it would be the third time the player has linked up with Guardiola. Thiago made his debut at Barcelona under the Spaniard and was also his first signing when he took charge of Bayern back in 2013.

City boss Guardiola is keen to reignite a lacklustre City side that finished a disappointing 4th last season, and central midfield is a key area of focus.
With doubts over Yaya Toure’s future at City and with concern over Brazilian duo Fernando and Fernandinho’s form, Guardiola has already secured the signing of İlkay Gündoğan.
Guardiola is expected to make further additions to his squad ahead of the new season, and it looks likely now that the Italian-born Spanish international will be one of them.
However, some City folks may not be as pleased as one might imagine.

Thiago follows Pep anywhere Pep goes. Not sure it is a good thing.

It is believed German champions Bayern are willing to listen to offers for Thiago and Guardiola is keen for a reunion.
The pair share the same agent, Pep’s brother Pere, which should also make negotiations a relatively straightforward process.
