The Guardian have just made a pretty bold claim regarding a potential Manchester United move for Monaco superstar Kylian Mbappé.
At just 18 years of age, Kylian Mbappé is already viewed as one of the most valuable footballers on the planet. Having broken into the Monaco team as the youngest player in the history of the club, the French striker has now scored an incredible 24 goals in 39 appearances this season, bagging five in European competition.
Multiple reports are now of the opinion that several European giants will attempt to sign the 18-year-old this summer even though Monaco are apparently keen on hanging onto Mbappé for one more season.
However, The Guardian have now made a massive claim with regard to a potential summer move for the French international, reporting that Manchester United have already had a £72m bid rejected for the forward.
Manchester United have had a £72m bid for Kylian Mbappé turned down, with Monaco wanting a world-record £100m for the 18-year-old forward.
José Mourinho has made Mbappé one of his main targets for the summer but the Ligue 1 club want to keep the teenage striker for at least another season.
Manchester United have already broken the English transfer record for Paul Pogba next season and Jose Mourinho has openly stated that they will likely surpass the sum spent on the former Juve man this summer.
Most believe that United are likely to move for Atletico’s Antoine Griezmann. However, if The Guardian’s report is to be believed, then it looks like Mourinho could be breaking out a £100 million sum on two occasions this summer.
